If you’re like us, it’s not uncommon to get the sniffles, the all too enthusiastic sneezing and the intense drowsiness that’s accompanied by those lovely (please note the sarcasm) seasonal allergies. One of the natural things that can trigger them is a higher pollen count. As such, one of the not quite as natural is the presence of toxins like formaldehyde and benzene.
Various plants help with the removal of these chemicals from the air. Some of the ones in our shop that are super proficient at working their allergy-fighting magic are the Peace Lily, Snake Plant and theChinese Evergreen.
You can, of course, learn about their super powers on their info page (add them to your shopping cart while you’re there) as well as how to take care of them.
Let’s do a quick and casual break down of how to care for these darlings since these plants take all the measures to help you out!
Okay, folks, so this flower is actually super amazing AND beautiful. Keep this baby in some low light and water it weekly to keep them shining bright. She likes a misting every once and again and despises overwatering.
Like really, really hates it. Watch out for her lovely leaves drooping, that’s when you know they’re not happy with the care your giving them. If this happens, try watering a little less.
The Snake Plant is TRULY special. They can handle all that ‘oops I forgot to water you’ kind of love. Keep them in low light- direct sun is totally not their cup of tea. Do all of this and you’ll be rewarded with a BFF that will eliminate benzene and formaldehyde from the air!
So amazing. We love it. Mystic powers, babe. Put them in every corner of that killer apartment you love. See what happens.
Like the Peace Lily, the Chinese Evergreen needs a bit of lower light and some spare watering. Once a week, just about. You can also be a super scientific plant parent and test the soil for dampness.
If the soil isn’t wet (and we’re not talking about drowning the poor little fellow, more like damp) then water him.
Also like our two previous superheroes, the Chinese Evergreen removes formaldehyde and benzene from the air of your home. That NASA study was super snazzy and, because of it, we have all this lovely info.
Why is that amazing? Well, because all this beautiful information, we’re able to let you know that the plants in our shop are indeed the plants that you need in your life.
Finally, as always, if you’ve got any questions, send us an email right quick. You’ve got this and we’ve got you!
